Team 987 was founded in October of 2001 by Marc Rogers and Joe Barry. The team consisted of a total of eleven students, coaches, and mentors. During our team's early years, the mentors and students were inexperienced and had little support from outside organizations. Over the years our team has learned a lot through trial and error, and in 2014 our team decided to add a new program to our robotics team called VEX. Through our community involvement and learned experience, we help other FRC and VEX teams achieve their goals not only in Las Vegas but across the nation and around the world.
2001: Team 987 was founded. 2002: Team 987's first competitive season. 2007: We won our first World Championship! 2014: The Chairman of Robotics Technology asked us to help train Chinese rookie teams to become just as capable as other FRC teams. We accepted the challenge and traveled to Beijing a week prior to the Chinese Robotics Challenge (CRC) to assist those teams and to experience the Chinese culture.
